CourageCollages was founded and incorporated in March 2007 by Colleen Luzier, a breast cancer survivor. The idea was born in 2005, however, with Colleen’s idea of cancer survivors gathering in a nurturing, therapeutic environment to create a meaningful and original piece of work based on her own experiences as a breast cancer patient and finding ways to express her hopes, fears and goals for the future through scrapbooking, journaling and painting. In May 2007, a non-profit organization with a volunteer Board of Directors and a team of dedicated volunteer professionals was officially formed to offer CourageCollage workshops for the cancer community across the United States.
